Seller's Comments:
"I purchased this piece of property in 2013. The high fence was completed in 2016. From that point on, I worked diligently to develop a herd of whitetails with typical antlers that surpassed the typical eight-point bucks found in the wild. The closing of the fence left me with two native bucks and about six native does, despite a diligent effort to eradicate or drive off native deer.
With those deer, I carefully chose genetically superior bucks and does to manipulate a herd of trophies. This last season, the last of the breeders was taken by my 13-year-old granddaughter. As I have for the past ten years, I only allowed the taking of cull bucks. This year, the culls included a ten, a nine, and an eight-point. Next season, we are going to continue that practice, but there are some monsters that are now seven and eight years old. With the exception of the last of the native bucks (nine years old in the picture), the best bucks shown are all less than five years old and will continue to add to the quality of the herd.
One final note: I have planted supplemental food plots since buying the ranch. The fall plots have (for the most part) been a mix of my own concoction. I only plant Iron and Clay Peas in the spring. A visual inspection, however, will evidence top quality "first-choice" browse that really does not require supplementing." - R. Burgess -
