This property is now privately for sale by owner. I am the farmer/owner who has been tending this land for the last 5 years. I am knowledgeable about the entire parcel and oversaw the fencing installation, and barn construction and can answer detailed questions.
This is a beautiful large well shaped tract of farm land, 119 acres, just outside Chapel Hill / Carrboro NC.
(It has one structure, a newly constructed 3000 sq ft pole barn nicely built up on footers. More photos of the barn to be added soon.)
The property is currently held under: GOLD LOOP LAND HOLDINGS LLC, formerly known as, HUNDRED ACRE FARM LLC.
There are currently no homes on the property. There is only one single 3000 sq ft pole barn which would be suitable for horses or cattle or hay storage / equipment storage.
The property is completely fenced in 119 acres, with one internal paddock around 5 acres connected to the pole barn.
The property has had cows only (under 20 total, understocked), naturally kept on it for the last 5 years with zero chemicals or pesticides. Animals were only grass fed, and natural at that. It can be certified organic without too much trouble if that is of interest. We have grown 3-5 acres of organically produced corn/wheat/oats etc in partnership with local farmer Red Tail Grains.
There are many natural persimmon trees on the property, as well as a few/handful planted pears, mulberry and blueberry.
There is a few acre dry lot in the south east corner, with access and is great for storage , equipment or parking large vehicles/trailers/RVs etc.
There are 3 ponds on the property , one of which has a beaver dam and they are quite beautiful. Creeks flow on the property from north to south, see maps for details on pond/creek locations.
Price Per Acre $53,000
Approx. 52-acre open Ag ground
Approx. 67-acres of mixed timber.
Fence 12,000 ln ft (Pure cedar, 6x6" posts, (3) 2x6" rails, 1x6" faceplates, all stainless steel hardware. posts sit 2.5' into ground) Corral tube gates span several stream crossings. (Fenced 2021)
The fence was built to last for decades.
Well X 3 (2 drilled wells, 1 open well)
Septic X1
(details on maps to locate wells / septic)
Open Air Storage 3000 sq ft (Pole barn built 2024)
There was an old dilapidated farm house that was removed and that is where the current barn sits, with 2 wells right next to it. It currently does not have power run to it.
There was a single wide at the top of the hill, which was removed. It is where the single septic, and additional well, as well as power is currently run. So in that sense there is one existing site which has amenities for home/trailer/RV or cabin etc.
Why are we selling?
We are currently downsizing our operations in the area, as we have an additional property and properties out of state.
This land is gorgeous and highly desirable due to being 10 mins to Carrboro/15 mins to Chapel Hill / 20 mins to UNC.
There are great farmers markets in the area, and the neighbors are awesome people.
The Gold Mine Loop itself is a completely private loop with no “through road” meaning, there are very few cars or traffic there.
The land we are offering for sale takes up approximately 50% the entire loop itself.
I am happy to give personal tours or answer questions just call or text me.
Please watch the 30 minute drone video linked on this listing, which I personally filmed and narrated which flies over the entirely new installed fence, and some of the ponds.
Total asking price 6.3M OBO. We are seeking a cash buyer and simple deal. Open to offers.
(If you are a broker send me your info by email or text, we would like a few contacts if we switch to a broker/agent)
Best regards,
Alex Buigas
