Smithfield Plantation

Welcome to Smithfield Plantation. A well laid out hunting tract less than 5 miles from downtown Marion, and situated just off Hwy. 501 bypass allowing easy access to the property. The diverse landscape offers an array of niche habitats for wildlife. High elevation old farmland, Mature pine stands, hardwood slews, and bottomland acreage, are all well represented on the property. Spring Branch borders the southern end of the property with a beaver pond for duck hunting and a good water supply for possible pumping for ducks. Over 35 acres of the tract was historically planted in row crop (now pines), so well drained areas are prevalent on the property with a good ditch and trail system throughout. Some light timber work was just completed during September in order to cut-out a 5 acre dove field, 2.5 acre duck impoundment, and a 1 acre food plot. Hundreds of acres of row crop land border the tract on the North and South, and Hundreds of acres of vast mature hardwood forest border the western side leading down to Catfish Creek. This property is rich in wildlife, especially Deer and Turkey!
